The actress will play a spy in a film about the hostages during the Olympic games in Munich, in 1972.
Croze, who was noticed by Spielberg due to her extraordinary presentation in Les Invasions Barbares, met the filmmaker last year in Paris.
The movie will tell the story of the 11 israeli athletes who were assassinated at the Munich Olympics. Filming is set to begin in August in Europe.
In other news, the next film by Steven Spielberg, War of the Worlds, starring Tom Cruise and Dakota Fanning will hit screens June 29, 2005.
