You already know the story: BPM Sports took the decision on Wednesday morning to suspend Martin Lemay indefinitely following his comments the previous day during a segment on the Montreal CF.
Alexandre Panneton, the station’s CEO, made the announcement on Wednesday afternoon.
Martin Lemay wasn’t on the air Wednesday, he wasn’t there yesterday… and he won’t be today either; Greg Lanctot is once again expected to replace Martin Lemay.
Except that several sources have told me that he will be back at the helm of his show(Le Retour des Sportifs) next Monday. His suspension will therefore be lifted after three failed shows.
Georges Laraque has just confirmed this, opening this special version of Laraque – Gonzalez hosted by Georges… and Tony Marinaro. But beware! Don’t start a rumour: Gonzo has not been suspended. He’ll be back in the stand-up chair on Monday. #PersonalReasons
Tony Marinaro is taking up more and more airtime. Is he…
Martin Lemay was back alongside Yanick Lévesque as co-host of the On jase podcast. He had missed yesterday’s show to take a little rest.

Yesterday, I called for calm , so I’m very happy to see that we were able to settle this matter quickly and that Martin Lemay will be back on the air next week. Yes, he made some unacceptable remarks, but he has apologized and paid the (very expensive) price. Let’s turn the page.
I hope that everyone will learn from this story…and that CF Montréal will be able to forgive a guy who didn’t hesitate to make amends. After all, we’re talking about two business partners here.
A station that doesn’t punish employees who come back hot off the boat to take control of the airwaves couldn’t possibly have extended Martin Lemay’s punishment by several more days.
Conclusion: we’ll be able to start thinking about Lionel Messi when we hear the name CF Montréal in the next few hours. At last! No one’s going to complain.
Extension
– Olivier Renard’s departure: CF Montreal players didn’t see it coming.
Samuel Piette has just said that he was surprised by Olivier Renard’s departure, that he hadn’t seen it coming.
A few minutes later, he mentioned that those around him were even more excited than he was about Messi’s arrival. “He’s performing quite well at the start of the season” 🙂

– There were, are and always will be people to approve or disapprove of the sporting director’s decisions.
It’s clear that the next sporting director – who won’t be appointed in the very short term – will have to accept having a president and a board who will have to approve his decisions above him.
In short, business as usual.

– Gabriel Gervais clearly didn’t appreciate Olivier Renard and/or Mathieu Choinière’s agent using the media to negotiate.
Gabriel Gervais: “unlike others, the club doesn’t negotiate publicly”.
My read: the club REALLY didn’t like seeing Mathieu Choinière’s negotiations come out publicly.

– Two players will be back tomorrow, but there’s a new guy in the infirmary.
Dominic Iankov and Joaquin Sosa will be available this weekend.
Raheem Edwards won’t.
All the others absent last Saturday and Tuesday will still be absent tomorrow.
