Mary J. Blige Takes a Judge’s Chair on Idol

Mary J. Blige will be a guest judge on American Idol.

According to People magazine, Blige accepted an invitation to sit in the chair left empty by Paula Abdul.  The same chair has already been filled by Victoria Beckham, and other guests may also be invited.

FOX, who airs the reality competition series, has not found a permanent replacement for Abdul.  Mary J. Blige will be working with Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi for the Atlanta auditions that end today (August 17).

Victoria Beckham was on board to judge during the show’s Boston auditions.  Said a source, “She’s had a great response so far, and has been really warm with the contestants.”
