According to Entertainment Weekly, Matthew McConaughey was asked to play Thomas Magnum in a film adaptation of Magnum P.I., the 80s television show starring Tom Selleck.
At the moment, Matthew McConaughey is reading the screenplay.
The film will be directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber (Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story).
As a co-star, the producers had in mind Melanie Brown, better known as Mel B of the Spice Girls.
McConaughey will be giving his decision in the near future.
