According to American sources, Matthew McConaughey and Lance Armstrong are good friends, and apparently nothing more. The 36-year old jokingly stated, "We tried it. Wasn’t for us."
Armstrong is laughing off all of the speculations. He thinks that his friendship with McConaughey has gotten closer since the two men ended their relationships, and are now single. Lance Armstrong was with singer Sheryl Crow, while McConaughey was dating Penelope Cruz.
These two stars have known each other for over eight years. Armstrong insists that despite all of the pictures taken of the two men during their activites, there is no romantic relationship happening.
McConaughey defended their relationship, "A lot of people don’t understand friendship. I have a great friend. It’s fun going out and living life and doing things at the drop of a hat. He just happens to be the most deliberate guy I’ve ever met."
