Matthew Morrison anxious about solo debut

Glee star admits he’s "nervous" about upcoming release of solo album next week.

With his solo album due out later this month, Glee star Matthew Morrison admits that he’s nervous about the big debut, reports Teen Music.

"I’m nervous, yeah," he told British magazine Fabulous. "I’m an actor first and foremost and I’ve always been able to hide behind a role or a show. Music is very exposing, it’s just me out there and that’s scary. This is my first time writing music and there’s a big spotlight on me and a lot of expectation."

After winning the role of glee club coach Will Schuester on the hit television show, Morrison landed the record deal last year, and has since been hard at work recording the tracks, which are a mix of cover songs and originals, and include some big name collaborators.

Recently, he released his duet of Over the Rainbow with Gwyneth Paltrow and his Elton John mash-up Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters/Rocket Man, which was recorded with the legendary British singer-songwriter.

Morrison’s new album is due out May 10 and he will begin his solo North American tour on June 18.
