Maurice Richard/The Rocket a Big Winner at the Genie Awards

The movie Maurice Richard/The Rocket, directed by Charles Binamé was honoured at the 27th Genie Awards, Canada’s Oscars, yesterday.

According to Holmes Creative Communications, there was quite a buzz surrounding this movie last night.  It won the three major awards of the evening:  Roy Dupuis for best actor, Julie Le Breton, for best actress and Charles Binamé, for best director.

Stéphane McHattie (Maurice Richard/The Rocket), took home the award for best supporting actor, and Carrie-Anne Moss (Snow Cake), won for best supporting actress.

Phillippe Falardeau won the award for the screenplay of Congorama.
