McCartney Disc Included in the Sunday Paper

With each copy of The Mail on Sunday, a disc by Sir Paul McCartney will be an extra bonus.

Some marketing approaches work better than others, but that of Britain’s The Mail on Sunday is bound to be a monstrous success on January 24.

Buyers and subscribers of the newspaper will be receiving a free disc including 7 Beatles songs sung by McCartney this weekend.

The promotion is quite surprising, but it’s not the first time that the singer has pulled off such a stunt. A little less than two years ago, the former Beatle had the same trick up his sleeve. The Mail on Sunday distributed a copy of McCartney’s last album, Memory Almost Full, which was only available at Starbucks. The artist came up with these alternative ways to promote music, after being displeased with the antics of record companies.

McCartney’s disc includes the tracks Hey Jude, Back in the USSR, Lady Madonna, Get Back and I Saw Her Standing There.
