McCartney, who gave the first show at Shea Stadium with the Beatles in 1964, and most recently performed at the venue with Billy Joel last year, will have the honour of giving the first show at the new Citi Field Stadium.
The stadium, which replaces Shea Stadium, home of the New York Mets major league baseball team, will host McCartney’s concerts on July 17 and 18.
