According to the website for the American morning show Good Morning America, Mel Gibson made a public statement about his arrest for drunk driving, and his anti-Semitic statements. The 50-year-old star referred to his statements as "stupid ramblings".
The actor expressed, "The last thing I want to be is that kind of monster"…What I need to do is to heal myself and to be assuring and allay the fears of others."
The star of the Lethal Weapon movies was arrested on June 28 for driving under the influence. In August, a judge sentenced him to three years of probation. The interview with Diane Sawyer will be shown on Thursday and Friday morning on ABC.
