After sharing the big screen in 1994 in the movie Maverick, Gibson and Foster will again reunite for the film The Beaver, in which Foster will play Gibson’s wife, reports Variety.
The actress will also direct the project, which tells the story of a depressed man who walks around with a beaver puppet and treats it like it has feelings.
Steve Carrell and Jim Carrey were initially considered for the role, but when Foster became director of the project, she chose Mel Gibson.
Filming will begin in September in New York.
Meanwhile, Gibson can be seen in the thriller Edge of Darkness, set to hit theatres on January 29, 2010.
