In an interview with Essence magazine, Brown, also known as "Scary Spice", revealed that she and the actor planned to marry after the birth of their child.
The baby girl is now three months old, and the two split long before her birth. Murphy even denied being the child’s father. Brown said, however, "This was a completely planned pregnancy."
The 32 year-old woman continued, "This wasn’t some random, ‘Oops I fell over and I’m pregnant.’ I don’t live my life like that. I’m a responsible parent and have been a responsible single parent since I got divorced." Brown divorced Jimmy Gulzar in 1999.
On April 3, Brown gave birth to Angel Iris Murphy Brown. In June, DNA tests proved that Murphy is, in fact, the baby’s father.
Brown added, "I have a baby with this guy so I have to be somewhat respectful."
