Metallica Wraps Up New Album

Metallica’s recording sessions for their new album, which has been described as very dynamic, are coming to a close.

Drummer Lars Ulrich confirmed that Metallica is tying up loose ends for the completion of their new album, which will be launched in September, reports Billboard.com.

During a press conference yesterday (May 15), Ulrich told journalists that the band hopes to finish recording from now to Memorial Day, which is the last Monday in May.

The group recently met with a graphic artist to create the cover design for the yet untitled album.

In the making of this disc, the band members started with a 26-song lineup, and reduced it to 14 songs, while working with producer Rick Ruban. For the moment, there are 11 songs, but by the end of the month, there might end up being 10.

Ulrich describes the new material as being very dynamic, with lots of tempo variations in the melodies.

Metallica will be performing their new material at their summer concerts.
