Metric releases fan remix box set

Fantasies Flashbacks drops on October 11.

When Toronto indie rockers Metric released their 2009 album Fantasies, the fan response was so overwhelming, they created a deluxe box set featuring remixes created by the fans themselves, reports Spinner.

Fantasies Flashbacks will be available on October 11. The box set will include ten seven-inch vinyls, each with an original Fantasies cut on the A-side and a fan remix on the B-side. All proceeds from the box set will go towards Toronto’s Centre for Addiction and Mental Health.

"Thank you to everyone who sent in ‘Fantasies Flashbacks’ submissions," lead singer Emily Haines wrote on the band’s official website. "I feel so very close to you all. Your submissions contradicted my fears. You weren’t afraid to be f—ing real!"

The box set will also include a special digital music player that comes preloaded with the band’s favorite remixes, information about the album, fan art and more.

Fantasies is the band’s fourth studio album. Released April 7, 2009, it peaked at 76 on the Billboard 200 and climbed to number six on the Canadian Albums Chart.
