Mexican resort has world’s priciest popsicles

Marquis Los Cabos sells tequila at $1,000 a pop.

Luxury Mexico resort Marquis Los Cabos has a new addition on the menu – the world’s most expensive tequila popsicle with a $1,000 price tag, reports the San Francisco Chronicle.

Those extra zeroes are not a mistake. A single frozen confection rings up at a full grand. The luxury treat is made with 24 carat gold flakes and Tequilas Premium Clase Azul Ultra tequila, which costs $1,500 a bottle and $500 a shot.

The gold-studded tequila pop can be ordered poolside at the beachfront Mexican resort, which boasts outdoor Infinity swimming pools and 28 private poolside casitas.

"From mini-indulgences like the Tequila Pop to indulgent fantasy services and programs, Marquis Los Cabos allows guests to personalize their hotel stay as part of the resort’s new approach to service, ‘Customized Luxury,’" said General Manager Ella Messerli.

Marquis Los Cabos is located in the city of Cabo San Lucas, on the tip of the Baja California peninsula.
