M:I3 Has a Start Date

Tom Cruise and the other stars of Mission: Impossible 3 are set to begin working on July 18 in Italy.

The new installment of the action series will be directed by J.J. Abrams (Alias, Armageddon, Lost).  The film will be shot in locations in Europe, Asia and the United States.

Tom Cruise and his production company, Cruise/Wagner Productions, are producing the film that is set for release in May, 2006.

The Mission: Impossible films are adapted from the original television series that appeared from 1966 to 1973.  The films have earned more than a billion dollars since the first movie in 2000.
