Michael Crichton Dies

The renowned author, Michael Crichton, has lost his battle with cancer.

Yesterday (November 5), writer Michael Crichton died of cancer at the age of 66, E! reports.

The news was confirmed by Michael Crichton’s staff, who publicly released the statement, "While the world knew him as a great storyteller that challenged our preconceived notions about the world around us — and entertained us all while doing so — his wife Sherri, daughter Taylor, family and friends knew Michael Crichton as a devoted husband, loving father and generous friend who inspired each of us to strive to see the wonders of our world through new eyes."

Throughout his prolific career, Crichton sold nearly 150 million books, such as Jurassic Park, and earned an Emmy award for his work on the television series, ER.
