Michael Douglas focused on recovery

Contrary to some reports, Douglas is not updating his will.

In an attempt to deal with rumours of his imminent demise, those close to Michael Douglas are saying the Wall Street star is not on his deathbed, according to People.

Douglas has not updated his will since undergoing treatment for throat cancer and he isn’t saying goodbye to loved ones. His father, Kirk, and his stepmother, Anne, have not moved to New York to be with him.

Douglas has just completed eight weeks of radiotherapy and chemotherapy to eradicate a tumour the size of a walnut at the base of the tongue, and according to his longtime publicist and friend, Allen Burry, the actor is doing well, "Michael is totally focused on his recovery.”

“It’s been very difficult," says Burry, and his doctors “are very pleased with how he responded to treatment. They think he’s doing really well. He’s doing as well as can be expected."

Michael Douglas, 66, is married to actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, 41, and they have two children, Dylan, 10, and Carys, 7.
