According to Variety, Douglas, 62, has agreed to star in the thriller which follows a landmark liability case against Ford.
Douglas will play a lawyer who battles Ford on behalf of a young single mother from Texas, who becomes paralized after an automobile accident.
The actor will also co-produce the project through his company, Further Films. The movie was inspired by a 2003 book by Adam Penenberg.
