Michael Douglas’s Surgery

Actor Michael Douglas is recovering from knee surgery.

Michael Douglas is resting after a knee replacement operation he had 4 weeks ago.

The 64-year-old actor found himself walking with a limp on the set of the film Solitary Man. It was then that his doctors suggested he go under the knife to correct the problem.

Douglas explained the reasons behind the surgery, saying, "I had a skiing accident years and years ago and it just wore down. It finally got to a point where I had a limp and I had to do it. So it’s four weeks old. I’ve got another couple of months (of recovery) but I’ll be fine."

The star could count on his wife, actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, to make him comfortable during his recovery. "She turned out to be fantastic, it’s like a test to see how good your wife is, but she’s been fantastic. But I couldn’t get her into the nurse’s outfit," he joked.
