Michael Fassbender is in talks to star in gangster movie ‘Trespass Against Us’.

The ’12 Years a Slave’ star has entered negotiations to play Chad Cutler, a man who is desperate to free himself from his family’s criminal ways, in the new movie to be directed by Adam Smith.

The film marks Smith’s fictional feature debut after previously helming episodes of ‘Doctor Who’, ‘Little Dorrit’ and the documentary movie, ‘The Chemical Brothers – Don’t Think’.

According to Deadline, the musical duo will reunite with Smith for the project by writing and recording an original score.

The script comes from Alistair Siddons, who will produce alongside Gail Egan and Andrea Calderwood.

‘Trespass Against Us’ is being co-financed by Film4 and will begin shooting in the UK next year.

Busy Fassbender is earning Oscar buzz for his role as slave owner Edwin Epps in ’12 Years a Slave’, a new biographical drama about Solomon Northup, who was kidnapped and sold into slavery in 1841. He also has ‘The Counsellor’ and ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ due for release over the next several months.

The actor is currently filming Western movie ‘Slow West’ and will then shoot a new adaptation of classic Shakespeare story ‘Macbeth’ in January.
