Michael Jackson Forced to Close Neverland

Authorities in California have ordered singer Michael Jackson to close his Neverland Ranch.

The star, who has moved to Bahrain after being acquitted of sexual molestation, has not been paying his ranch employees and hasn’t maintained proper insurance for the staff.

The state of California also charges that Jackson has not paid at least 30 of his employees since January, which is also when the workers compensation policy expired.  The employees may not report to work until Jackson reinstates the policy.  The animals at the ranch will be looked after by local animal welfare workers.

The Neverland Ranch is spread over 2,800 acres.  In addition to the residence, there is a zoo and a theme park.
