Much Too Soon, the second single off Michael Jackson’s posthumous album Michael was released through Ping, the new iTunes social network that allows users to share their musical tastes.
The song features Michael singing softly about lost love, backed by acoustic guitar and a string ensemble.
According to the online description, it was recorded in the early 1980s alongside Jackson’s Thriller album. The pop singer reportedly always liked the song, but was unable to find "the right home for it."
Michael is the first album of previously unreleased material from the pop star since his untimely death on June 25, 2009 at the age of 50. Much Too Soon is the tenth and final track on the upcoming album, due for release on December 14.
