The Brokeback Mountain star was selected to play the lead role in a new film called My Week With Marilyn. Several Hollywood beauties were also considered for the part, including Scarlett Johansson and Amy Adams.
According to Britain’s Daily Mail, it seems that director Simon Curtis and producer David Parfitt think Williams is the perfect star to play Monroe, but they are still awaiting a response from the actress.
The upcoming film will recount the period of Monroe’s life in 1957 when she was filming The Prince and The Showgirl with Laurence Olivier. The screenplay will be based on a diary kept by the assistant director of the film, Colin Clarke. Filming for My Week with Marilyn is set to begin in London next June.
Michelle Williams has one child, a daughter Matilda, from her relationship with the late actor Heath Ledger.
