Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift perform for Nashville

More and more artists are coming to the aid of Louisiana flood victims.

Last week, singer Ke$ha, who grew up in Nashville, announced her intention to give a benefit concert for victims of devastating floods that hit the city and parts of the state of Louisiana. She will take to the stage at the Limelight on June 16.

Call it the snowball effect if you like. Now a series of stars have followed suit and will also participate in a fundraiser to help victims. However, unlike Ke$ha’s decidedly electronic pop flavour, this group of artists is downright country. Some big names will meet on the evening of June 22 at the Bridgestone Arena as part of Nashville Rising: A Benefit Concert for Flood Recovery.

Hosted by Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, the fundraiser will see Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Brooks & Dunn, LeAnn Rimes, Miranda Lambert and Martina McBride perform. Several others will be added to the list as the concert date approaches.

Young country sensation Taylor Swift already donated $500,000 last week. She also confirmed her presence at the June 22 fundraiser.
