According to E!OnLine, Paramount Pictures is interested in Miley Cyrus for the role of Ariel Moore in the remake of the Footloose movie. "They’ve expressed interest in Miley for the part," a source told the Internet site.
Competition for the part has been fierce as several other actresses have shown interest in the film now that Chace Crawford has signed on, including Hayden Panettiere, Amanda Bynes and Julianne Hough.
The Hannah Montana star will begin filming her new movie, The Last Song, next month. The Disney production is expected to hit theatres in January 2010.
