Miley Cyrus is grateful for Kanye West’s support.
The controversial 20-year-old pop star has received lots of criticism from fellow musicians in recent months following her raunchy performance at the MTV Video Music Awards in August, however, Miley is more interested in the kind words she has received from artists such as Kanye, 36, and Katy Perry, 29.
In an interview with the December issue of Cosmopolitan magazine, she gushed: ”The support of other artists is important because there are not many people who can relate to what I’m going through right now. Kanye West is one of those people, and even Katy Perry has been so cool.
”It’s easy for Kanye to support me because we’re totally separate lanes of competition, but for Katy to say that she appreciates what I’m really doing for the pop industry, that keeps you going. And I mean, who cares what the media buzz is if Kanye West is telling you that you’re the s**t?”
While ‘Roar’ singer Katy has expressed support for the ‘Wrecking Ball’ hitmaker – who appeared nude in the video for her hit song – she recently expressed her disapproval of her fellow female pop stars shedding their clothes.
Katy said: ”Like females in pop — everybody’s getting naked. I mean, I’ve been naked before but I don’t feel like I have to always get naked to be noticed.
”I’m not talking about anyone in particular. I’m talking about all of them. I mean, it’s like everybody’s so naked. It’s like, ‘Put it away!’ We know you’ve got it. I got it too. I’ve taken it off for — I’ve taken it out here and there. And I’m not necessarily judging. I’m just saying sometimes it’s nice to play that card but also it’s nice to play other cards. And I know I have that sexy card in my deck, but I don’t always have to use that card.”
