Miley Cyrus records ‘Jolene’

Miley Cyrus has released a live video recording of her godmother Dolly Parton’s 1974 hit ‘Jolene’

Miley Cyrus has released a live video recording of ‘Jolene’.

The ‘Can’t Be Tamed’ singer shared the new cover with her fans via YouTube and Twitter of her rendition of her godmother Dolly Parton’s 1974 hit.

The video – which was published on Christmas Eve (24.12.12) and has already attracted almost 250,000 views – was recorded during her ‘Backyard Sessions’ last summer, which saw her sing some of her favourite songs by other artists with her band in her garden.

Miley is current recording her new album, which is being produced by Pharrell Williams.

The former The Neptunes star recently revealed that the album will sound nothing like anything the 20-year-old former ‘Hannah Montana’ star has ever released before.

He told MTV: "Her sound right now is her personality. That’s what we’ve been aiming for in the studio and that’s what’s been coming out and that’s what’s been sounding so interesting. Her voice is a very powerful one – you just have to hear it to know that and to understand it. It’s nowhere near what it is that you think."
