Miley Cyrus Song Loses Grammy Nod

A Miley Cyrus song will not be considered for an award at the upcoming ceremony.

Just days after the Grammy nominees were announced, it was reported that a Miley Cyrus song does not meet the necessary criteria to compete in its category.

Cyrus, 17, recorded a song that was up for the Best Song for Motion Picture.  The Climb was written by Jessi Alexander and Jon Mabe, and appeared on the Hannah Montana: The Movie soundtrack.  However, the song was pulled from the category because it was not written specifically for the film.

Instead, the spot left open on the nominees’ list will go to All is Love, written by Karen O.  The song, performed by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, was written for the film Where the Wild Things Are.

A source from Team Miley said that the nomination had been a surprise, and they believed that the song had been submitted for the category by mistake.

The 52nd annual Grammy Awards will be presented on January 31 and broadcast on CBS.
