Last night (August 23), the beauty was honoured as the new Miss Universe in Nassau, Bahamas.
Among the 83 contestants, Stefania Fernandez of Venezuela was chosen as the fairest one of all. The 18-year-old succeeds Dayana Mendoza, also from Venezuela, who was crowned with the title in 2008.
This is Venezuela’s sixth win in 59 years.
Among the top-five finalists were Miss Dominican Republic, Miss Puerto Rico, Miss Australia and Miss Kosovo.
The grand prize awarded to Miss Universe includes an undisclosed sum of money, a $100,000 scholarship to study acting in New York, a trip to the Bahamas, as well as jewellery and clothing.
