The jury has been deliberating for the last 12 days on whether or not Phil Spector is guilty of murdering actress Lana Clarkson. The jury was unable to make a unanimous decision. There were ten jurors that found the producer guilty, but two that did not agree.
In a press release, the Los Angeles prosecuter did not hesitate to reveal their disappointment. "We are disappointed the jury was unable to reach a verdict. We will seek the court’s permission to re-try the case and begin immediately to prepare for a re-trial."
The 67-year-old producer has denied shooting Clarkson, and making it look like a suicide attempt. The incident happened on February 3, 2003 at Spector’s luxurious residence in Alhambra, California.
Spector started out as a musician, and rapidly started producing albums for artists such as: The Beatles, Ike and Tina Turner, The Ronettes and The Ramones.
