The 25-year-old country singer and the star of Gossip Girl did not break up in a traditional manner. The two stars sent each other text messages on their cell phones indicating that they were splitting up.
"It was completely mutual. We broke up over text so … it’s like ‘peace out,’" Underwood told Extra during the recording of Idols Gives Back.
The singer added that this split was not painful or dramatic, but was done with some serenity. "It just didn’t work. We both knew it didn’t work and [had] no hard feelings at all whatsoever," expressed Underwood.
This opinion does not seem to be shared by Crawford. His sister Candice revealed that the breakup upset Crawford.
