Pop diva Beyonce, married to rapper Jay-Z and three months pregnant with their first child, took to the runway in London, England this weekend to promote the launch of her first UK fashion collection for London Fashion Week.
Wearing a sequined pantsuit with plunging neckline, Beyoncé strolled down the runway, hand in hand with her designer partner, mom Tina Knowles, after the duo unveiled their House of Dereon collection at Selfridges store.
An insider said: "It was Beyonce’s first fashion show outside the US – and she was thrilled with it." Star guests at the launch included Paloma Faith, Eliza Doolittle and Rosario Dawson.
“This collection was inspired by a lot of my travels,” Beyoncé said in an interview with CNN. “I did a world tour, I traveled to Asia, Brazil, all over the world and I saw such beauty and my mother traveled with me and we decided we should mix these great cultures together and make something original and beautiful, and this show celebrates the global nomad…we have the mixtures of the African hair wraps and some of the Asian prints and we mix it with different textures sequins and gold jewelry and it just becomes very refreshing.”
The 30-year-old singer and her mom created House of Dereon in 2004. The line of fashions for women is named after Beyoncé’s maternal grandmother, Agnez Dereon.
