Montreal Jazz Festival unveils line-up

Diana Krall, Sade, Holly Cole, and John Legend among performers.

 

Today (April 26), organizers of the 32nd Festival International de Jazz de Montréal unveiled a line-up of entertainers, including some of the greatest names in jazz – from legendary greats to recent newcomers.

This summer’s festival features performances by Led Zeppelin’s Robert Plant, Diana Krall, Sade, John Legend, George Wein, as well as an appearance by Paco de Lucía after a 10-year absence.

Other greats include Marianne Faithfull, Wanda Jackson, Dave Brubeck, Peter Frampton, Tony Bennett, Don McLean, America, Return to Forever, Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, plus the Glenn Miller Orchestra and the Artie Shaw Orchestra in a new edition of the friendly Battle of the Bands.

The huge summer music festival held annually in Montreal, Quebec, features 3,000 artists from 30 countries playing more than 650 concerts, including 450 free outdoor performances. Tickets go on sale April 30.

Close to 2.5 million people are expected over the 11-day festival, which runs from June 25 to July 4. Check out the website for a complete listing of entertainers.
