The film, to be directed by Bryan Singer, will also star Tom Cruise and Kenneth Branagh.
The war suspense film was inspired by the true story of how German forces conspired to assassinate Adolf Hitler when World War II was at its worst.
United Artists will distribute the film, which begins shooting on July 19 in Berlin. It is expected to be released in theatres in 2008.
Bryan Singer was the director of the film Superman Returns, and is also working on a sequel.
