More unwanted pregnancies and abortions among obese women

Obese women under 30 have more unwanted pregnancies and abortions than other women of the same age.

According to a study of 12,000 participants conducted by the National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM), overweight women under 30 are four times more likely to report unwanted pregnancies or abortions.

The study on the relationship between body mass index (BMI) and sexual health was published in the British Medical Journal. It also found that obese women are less likely to take the pill and visit a gynecologist less often.

One of the reasons cited by experts to explain this phenomenon is that overweight women worry about undressing in front of their doctor.

Women who are overweight or obese also have more difficulty finding a life partner. This explains why they are three times more likely to meet their partners on the Internet than women of a similar age and normal weight. They can hide their weight online, at least until the actual meeting takes place.
