Movie Adaptation of Splinter Cell

Dreamworks, which includes Paramount, has just bought the rights for the video game Splinter Cell.

The Hollywood studio has hired screenwriter Daniel Pyne (The Manchurian Candidate) to produce a script that will star the characters created by author Tom Clancy.

Splinter Cell, one of the most popular video games, tells of the adventures of elite special agent Sam Fisher.  He works for a secret entity called the NSA (National Security Agency). This is a team of strategists, spies, and secret agents, working to prevent conflicts.

There is no filming date determined at this time.
