27-year old Carrie Underwood walked down the aisle last Saturday night (July 10). Waiting to exchange vows with the Grammy-award winning singer was 30-year old Ottawa Senators hockey player Mike Fisher.
The wedding took place at the Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation, in Georgia. There were 250 friends and family on hand to witness the couple exchange their vows. Needless to say, it was a lavish affair.
The newlyweds released a statement to People magazine: "We could not feel more blessed to have found each other and to have shared this day with our friends and family that mean so much to us!" The couple signed the statement Mike & Carrie Fisher.
The bride wore an original Monique Lhuillier Chantilly lace gown and her bridesmaids wore dresses by the designer as well.
Mr. and Mrs. Fisher were spotted Sunday (July 11) getting on a plane at LAX airport. According to a source, the destination was Tahiti and Bora Bora for an exotic 11-day honeymoon.
