The film Twilight has racked up the most nominations for the upcoming MTV Movie Awards, with seven chances to win. Slumdog Millionaire trails closely behind with nods in six categories.
The two films are contending for Best Film, while Iron Man, The Dark Knight and High School Musical 3: Senior Year are also in the running.
Kristen Stewart was nominated for the Best Female Performance award for Twilight, and is up against Angelina Jolie (Wanted), Anne Hathaway (Bride Wars), Kate Winslet (The Reader) and Taraji P. Henson (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button).
The Best Male Performance category includes the nominees Christian Bale (The Dark Knight), Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Shia LaBeouf (Eagle Eye), Vin Diesel (Fast & Furious) and Zac Efron (High School Musical 3).
Robert Pattinson and his Twilight co-star, Taylor Lautner, are competing for Best Male Breakthrough Performance.
Pattinson was also nominated for Best Fight with Cam Gigandet, and for Best Kiss with Kristen Stewart.
The MTV Movie Awards will take place at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California on May 27. The event will be hosted by Andy Samberg.
