Vibe announced that Kelis, whose full name is Kelis Rogers-Jones, has filed for a divorce with rapper Nas.
The news was confirmed by the R&B singer’s spokesperson. "I can confirm that she has filed for divorce. We request the media to respect her privacy during this very difficult time," the rep stated yesterday (April 30).
Kelis cited irreconcilable differences, and the fact that she is expecting a boy this summer has not stopped her from initiating divorce proceedings.
The couple married on January 5, 2005 after two years of dating.
