Rumours have been circulating that the actress disrobed while playing the muse of the painter Francisco Goya. Portman, however, insists that a double was used. She said, "There’s a long shot of a nude woman, but it’s not me. You do see some parts of me unclothed, but if they end up on websites making it look like I’m nude, I’m going to be really, really angry."
The 26 year-old actress also denies stories that she accepted the controversial role in order to rid herself of her perfect image. Portman explained, "I didn’t do the scene in order to prove something. I just want to get on with my life and do what feels right."
