The studio has hired Gregory Poirier to write the screenplay, and Jon Turtletaub will direct. Poirier also wrote the script for the Disney film Swiss Family Robinson. The idea for the story has not yet been revealed.
The first film, which starred Nicolas Cage, Sean Bean, Diane Kruger, Justin Bartha and Jon Voight, earned 347.5 million dollars world wide.
