Need to urinate ‘influences belief in free will’

A new report has suggested that people who need to urinate are less inclined to believe in free will.

People who need to urinate are less likely to believe in free will, according to a new report.

The research, published in the journal Consciousness and Cognition, suggests the belief in free will is negatively linked to the desire to urinate.

The theory relies on the idea that our bodies influence how we perceive the world around us, with one experiment finding people were more likely to donate to Haiti for the Red Cross if they held the pen they wrote with lightly with their fingers.

The correlation was found to be strongest in relation to urinating, sleeping and sex.
