Neil Patrick Harris wants funny Oscars writers
Neil Patrick Harris has issued a public appeal for »funny » writers to help him with the Oscars.
The ‘How I Met Your Mother’ actor is to host the 2015 Academy Awards and though he is »thankful » to have landed the prestigious job, he doesn’t know yet what will happen during the show.
He told ‘Access Hollywood’: »I legitimately have no idea what the content of the show will be yet.
»I’m just thankful that I get to be a part of it this year.
»We are actively hiring writers so if you know anyone funny, Tweet me. »
The ‘Gone Girl’ star has previously admitted he wants to keep the Oscars – which take place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on February 22 – »classy ».
The 41-year-old actor said: »I don’t want them to be super derivative of other shows that I’ve done. I don’t want it to seem like I’m doing the same award hosting gig that I did on the Tonys, just now on a different stage …
»I want to also just make sure that it’s a classy event. I’ve always loved the Oscars and have great respect for its history, and the gowns, and the classiness of it. »
