Neil Young will tour the Gulf Coast

The Canadian wants to bring his music to an ecological disaster zone.

Neil Young has always been an artist who is not afraid to stand up for what he believes. A lot of his commentary on political, social and environmental issues ends up front and centre in his songs.

He now turns his sights on the environmental disaster along the U.S. Gulf Coast caused by that BP oil spill. Young plans to head down south during his Twisted Road solo tour and visit places affected by the spill.

Only one date has been confirmed on this leg of the tour so far. Mr. Young will perform at the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida on September 23.

The tour page on Neil Young’s official website indicates that other dates are booked for August 24, October 23, November 21 and December 21. Fans now have to wait and see where he will actually be on those dates.

Young added a message to his website, saying: "Other dates will be announced that are surrounding this show in Florida and on the Gulf Coast. I am looking forward to playing Florida and the Gulf Coast."

He will certainly be playing material off his new album produced by fellow Canadian Daniel Lanois.
