Neil Young’s new album

Canadian singer Neil Young has announced via Facebook that his new album, Le Noise, will be released on CD, vinyl and on iTunes on September 28, according to Rolling Stone

It will also become available on Blu- Ray, as well as on applications for iPhone and iPad, towards the end of November 2010,

"The applications will be free," explained the Harvest Moon singer.

He elaborated; "It gives you an interactive album cover. Forgive my use of the word ‘album.’ I am old school. When you buy the songs/movies from I- tunes they show up in your APP."

The producer Daniel Lanois recorded the disc in his home in Los Angeles earlier this year.

"We cut a couple of solo acoustic songs, but the rest is very electric. There’s no band, but I got in there with my sonics," said Lanois.
