Nelly Furtado releases greatest hits album

The Best of Nelly Furtado to include three new songs.

The approach of the holiday season is typically accompanied by an avalanche of new compilation albums—after all, they do make great gifts. One of the latest offerings—sure to be popular with many Canadians—is The Best of Nelly Furtado available November 16. And, just in time for gift-giving season, a deluxe version will also be offered as well as the original version, according to starpulse.com.

Fortunately, Furtado fans will also be treated to three new tracks which should generate some airplay and publicity for the album. The album’s first single is called Night is Young; and the other two new songs are called Girlfriend and Stars—were all co-written by Furtado.

While Pink announced her greatest hits release yesterday (October 6) culled from just five studio albums, Furtado takes it one step further, basing her collection on just four studio albums.

After a ten-year career and many number one hits including I’m Like a Bird, Furtado, 31, was recently inducted into the Canadian Walk of Fame.

The singer released a Spanish album in 2009, Mi Plan, which reached the top of Billboard’s “Hot Latin Songs” chart, and is nominated for a Latin Grammy award.

The global pop star’s highly anticipated fifth album is scheduled for release in 2011.
