New Album for Rod Stewart

Singer Rod Stewart will be releasing his first album in eight years this fall.

According to SONY BMG MUSIC of Canada, this new album, Still the Same…Great Rock Classics of Our Time, is a compilation of the great rock songs of all time.  It will be in stores on October 10.

The 61-year-old singer has a unique voice in the world of rock music.  Stewart acquired rights to great classics such as If Not for You by Bob Dylan, and Crazy Love by Van Morrison.  He will also do more contemporary hits such as I’ll Stand By You, The Pretenders.

Rod Stewart became famous in 1971 with his song Maggie May.  This song was at the top of the charts in the U.S. and England for several weeks.  Recently, Paris Hilton did a remake of his hit, Do Ya Think I’m Sexy.
