The new album, which was delayed after the announcement of an ill Beastie Boy, will be released in the beginning weeks of January 2010.
The Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 1 was initially expected out last September, however, Adam "MCA" Yauch was diagnosed with cancer in his salivary gland six months ago, which forced the group to postpone the album release. The Beastie Boys also had to cancel concert dates booked for this summer, including festivals that they were headlining.
After his operation, Yauch revealed to Gothamist.com that the group was planning to release The Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 1 in early 2010. "We’re just figuring that out right now. But hopefully, it looks like it’ll be coming out early part of next year. I don’t know that it’s official yet, but that seems to be the direction we’re moving in."
