New Blink-182 album coming out soon

Bassist Mark Hoppus says album is almost done.

The end is in sight for Blink-182’s long-awaited new album, according to posts by bassist Mark Hoppus on Facebook, reports Gibson.

"I’m very excited. We’re getting to the point of the album where we talk about mixers and finishing up the songs," Hoppus wrote on the social networking site. "We deliver the album to the label on July 31, so it will be coming out during the tour."

The pop-punk trio is currently gearing up for a U.S. tour with fellow rockers My Chemical Romance. Joined by Manchester Orchestra, Rancid, and Matt & Kim, the musicians will perform over 40 shows between August 5 and October 15.

Last month, the band said they were hit by new inspiration as they neared the end of recording, and churned out a bunch of new songs.

"The most recent batch of songs are some of the best of the entire record. Very happy it’s all coming together," added Hoppus.

The as-yet-untitled album will be their first since Blink-182’s self-titled 2003 album. The band went into hiatus in 2005 after guitarist Tom DeLonge left to form Angels & Airwaves. They reunited in 2009 and have been working on their sixth studio album since.
